Auto Reply to Comments: the AI Comment Reply Assistant
Auto replying to comments means AI reads new comments on your social posts and answers them in the tone your brand sets; Duyuro's AI Comment Reply Assistant does this today for LinkedIn comments and X mentions, on a monthly subscription that spends no credits, while Instagram comment replies open once Meta approves the permission.
How does auto replying to comments work?
Once you switch the assistant on, Duyuro checks new comments on the last five posts of your connected LinkedIn account and new mentions of your X account every five minutes. It handles each new comment once, skips those containing your blocked keywords and replies to the rest following your persona instructions. Older comments are left alone.
Start the subscription
The AI Comment Reply Assistant is a monthly subscription. Without it, the settings screen shows that the assistant is required and the switch stays off.
Connect the account
Connect LinkedIn and X through their own official approval screens. No password is shared. Instagram will be added in the same place once Meta approves the comment permission.
Write the persona
In the Persona / System Instruction field, describe how the assistant should talk: how it addresses people, its tone, what it may and may not share.
Set language, length and filters
Choose the reply language, the maximum length and the keywords that should never get an automatic reply, then save.
Activate and monitor
Switch it to Active. The Recent AI Replies list shows each comment, the reply and its status.
Which platforms can you auto reply to comments on?
Today the AI Comment Reply Assistant answers comments on your LinkedIn posts and mentions of your account on X. Instagram comment replies will open after Meta approves the comment management permission; until then, Instagram comments need a manual reply. YouTube comments and direct messages are out of scope.
| Platform | What gets a reply | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Comments on your posts | Supported, on accounts where LinkedIn grants read access | |
| X | Mentions of your account | Supported |
| Comments on your posts | After Meta approves the permission (not live yet) | |
| YouTube | Video comments | Not supported at the moment |
| Direct messages (DMs) | Private messages | Not supported |
How do you control how the AI replies?
The persona instruction sets the tone of every reply. Without one, the assistant replies briefly, in a friendly and professional way, adds no hashtags unless the commenter used them and never uses offensive language. You also choose the reply language, the maximum length, keywords that block a reply and, optionally, the AI model.
| Setting | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Active / Inactive | On or off | Starts or stops the assistant per account |
| Persona / System Instruction | Free text | Sets tone, form of address and boundaries |
| Language | Auto (same as the comment), Turkish, English | Chooses the reply language |
| Maximum reply length | 20 to 2,000 characters, default 280 | Keeps replies short |
| Model (optional) | A model available on OpenRouter | Uses the model you prefer instead of the default |
| Blocked keywords | Word list | Comments containing these words get no automatic reply |
Example persona: "You are the social media assistant of a neighborhood cafe. Keep replies to two sentences. Point price questions to the menu link and booking requests to our phone number. For complaints, apologize and ask the person to send us a direct message."
Does the AI also reply to negative or risky comments?
The assistant does not run sentiment analysis; your blocked keyword list decides which comments it skips. Add words such as "refund", "complaint" or "lawyer" and those comments get no automatic reply and show as skipped in the history, so a person answers them. Writing how to handle complaints into the persona adds a second safeguard.
- Blocked keywords are matched anywhere in the text, ignoring upper and lower case.
- Unless publish approval is on for the brand, replies are sent without waiting for approval, so keep sensitive topics out with the keyword list.
- Each comment is handled once; the same comment never gets two replies.
Where can you see the replies the assistant sent?
The Recent AI Replies section on the settings screen shows the last 25 records. Each one lists the commenter, the comment, the reply and a status: replied, pending, skipped or failed. Skipped records show the reason, failed ones the error message. Team members with the viewer role can see the settings but cannot change them.
- Statuses: replied, pending, skipped, failed.
- Skipped records show why; failed records show the error.
- The list shows the last 25 records; viewers cannot change settings.
How much does it cost to auto reply to comments?
The AI Comment Reply Assistant is a monthly subscription at $4 per month. Replies spend no credits, so your bill does not grow with your comment volume. When the subscription ends, the assistant switches itself off on the connected accounts. Other assistants, such as trend tracking, start at $3 per month and are added separately.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| AI Comment Reply Assistant | $4 per month |
| Credits per reply | 0 |
| Connected platforms | LinkedIn and X in the same subscription; Instagram after permission approval |
When is auto replying better than answering comments by hand?
Auto replies save real time on accounts that get the same questions again and again: prices, address, opening hours, stock and bookings. Crises, personal complaints and conversations that could turn into a sale still need a person. The best setup leaves routine questions to the assistant and blocks sensitive keywords so your team handles the rest.
Frequently asked questions
Can Duyuro auto reply to Instagram comments?
Not yet. Duyuro's Instagram connection currently has the permissions needed to publish posts and Reels; the Meta permission needed to reply to comments is not active yet. Once it is approved, Instagram comments will be answered under the same subscription. Until then the assistant works on LinkedIn comments and X mentions, and Instagram comments need a manual reply.
Can it auto reply to YouTube comments?
Not at the moment. You can connect your YouTube channel to Duyuro to upload videos, but automatic replies to YouTube comments cannot be switched on. Answer those in YouTube Studio for now.
Do replies wait for my approval before they are posted?
Not by default; replies are sent automatically, because the point of the assistant is to answer without waiting. If you turn on "Publish approval" for the brand in Settings, each reply is emailed to the approver first and is not posted until it is approved. Without approval, you stay in control in three ways: the persona sets tone and limits, blocked keywords keep sensitive comments out, and the Recent AI Replies list shows every reply. You can switch the assistant off with one click.
Does the AI reply in the commenter's language?
Yes. With the language set to Auto, the assistant replies in the language the comment was written in, so an Arabic comment gets an Arabic reply and an English comment an English one. You can also fix the language to English or Turkish. The setting is saved per account.
Will it reply to old comments?
No. The assistant only handles comments that arrive after you switch it on. On LinkedIn it looks at your last five posts, and on X at new mentions, so months-old comments do not suddenly get replies. Answer pending questions on older posts by hand first.
Can automatic replies put my account at risk?
Duyuro is not a bot logging in with your password; you connect LinkedIn and X through their official approval screens and replies are sent with that access. Posting the same template line under every comment can look like spam, but the assistant writes each reply for the specific comment. You can remove the connection at any time.
